Stepdown/MedSurg RN

Location

• Morgantown, West Virginia

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Shift

• Nights, 12-hour shifts
• 36 hours per week

Unit Details

• Stepdown and MedSurg unit with 32 beds total
• Patient ratios:

  • Stepdown: 1:3
  • Floor: 1:4-6
• Common patient population includes chest pain, COPD, altered mental status, pneumonia, UTI, abdominal pain, overflow from other services, and hospice-related care
• Telemetry is used on the unit, and RNs must be able to read strips with telemetry monitor tech support
• Drips are used in stepdown; floor patients receive PCA and heparin among other medications
• Floating may include any floor or stepdown unit

Required Qualifications

• BLS certification
• RN license
• Must be able to read telemetry strips

Scheduling Requirements

• 2 weekends per schedule
• Holidays scheduled with permanent staff

Submission Requirements

• Only one submission at a time across the WVU system
• Driver’s license address must be more than 50 miles from the facility
• Previous permanent employees must have been gone for 2 years
• Previous travelers who completed 1 full year there must have been gone for 2 years
• An unexpired copy of the candidate’s driver’s license must be included with submission
• Travel teams must be submitted together in one email
• Maximum of 2 candidates may be submitted per opening
