We’re looking for experienced Travel CVICU RNs to join a high-acuity cardiovascular critical care team in Grand Junction, Colorado.
This 13-week travel assignment offers a highly desirable 3×12-hour night schedule from 7:00 PM–7:30 AM, providing 36 hours per week with no on-call requirement.

About the Opportunity
As a Travel CVICU RN, you’ll be part of a specialized critical care environment caring for patients who require close monitoring, advanced nursing interventions, and complex cardiovascular management.
This role is ideal for an experienced critical care nurse who is confident managing high-acuity patients, recognizes subtle changes in condition, and can respond quickly when patient status changes.
You’ll work alongside physicians and an interdisciplinary healthcare team to provide safe, evidence-based, patient-centered care.
What You'll Do
As a CVICU RN, your responsibilities will include:
- Perform comprehensive assessments of critically ill patients.
- Continuously monitor patient condition and recognize changes requiring intervention.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.
- Provide direct nursing care to high-acuity cardiovascular patients.
- Administer medications, therapies, and treatments within your scope of practice.
- Monitor patient response to medications, treatments, and clinical interventions.
- Recognize and promptly communicate significant changes in patient condition.
- Collaborate closely with physicians and interdisciplinary team members.
- Provide patient and family education and support.
- Participate in care planning and interdisciplinary coordination.
- Prioritize multiple patient needs in a fast-paced critical care environment.
- Maintain accurate and timely EHR documentation.
- Follow hospital policies, professional standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Promote patient safety, quality outcomes, and compassionate care.
- Utilize available clinical resources appropriately.
- Perform other duties within the scope of practice and assignment requirements.
Critical Care Experience You'll Bring
We’re looking for nurses who are comfortable caring for complex cardiovascular and critically ill patients and who can confidently function in a high-acuity ICU environment.
Your experience should include strong competency in:
- Continuous cardiac monitoring
- Critical patient assessment
- Recognition of patient deterioration
- Cardiovascular critical care
- Complex medication and infusion management
- Rapid clinical decision-making
- Critical care interventions
- Multidisciplinary communication
- Patient and family education
- Care coordination
- Prioritization of rapidly changing patient needs
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of recent CVICU experience
- Current, active RN license
- Single-state or Compact RN license, as applicable
- BLS – American Heart Association (AHA)
- ACLS – American Heart Association (AHA)
- NIHSS/NIH certification
- Strong critical thinking and clinical assessment skills
- Ability to work effectively in a high-acuity critical care environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple critical patient needs
