Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality critical care to seriously ill and injured patients in a 3-bed ICU within a critical access hospital.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ICU nurse who values autonomy, teamwork, clinical decision-making, and personalized patient care. You will care for a diverse patient population, including medical and post-surgical patients, while also supporting care within a mixed-acuity inpatient environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, monitor, and evaluate patients for subtle or significant changes in condition.
• Provide continuous nursing care to critically ill patients throughout their ICU stay and recovery.
• Respond promptly and effectively to medical emergencies and changes in patient status.
• Administer medications and treatments safely and evaluate patient responses.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
• Prioritize care for patients with complex and rapidly changing conditions.
• Collaborate closely with physicians and multidisciplinary care teams.
• Communicate effectively and compassionately with patients and their families.
• Educate patients, families, and fellow team members regarding care and treatment.
• Delegate appropriate tasks and ensure completion of assigned responsibilities.
• Apply sound clinical judgment and critical thinking when determining interventions.
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow hospital policies, procedures, and clinical standards.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, professional development, continuing education, and team activities.
• Support data collection, research, and initiatives designed to improve patient outcomes.

Qualifications

Required:

• Active RN License
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification

Preferred:

• ICU/critical care nursing experience
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
• Experience caring for medical and/or post-surgical patients
