Unit Information: CSU (Cardiac Stepdown Unit)

Tell us about the unit(s):

· Number of Beds – 18

· Number of Staff – 38 total

· Type of staff:

o Day Shift – 5 RN 1 CC and 2 PCT (ideal)

o Night Shift – 5 nurses and 1 pct

· Patient Ratios – 4:1

· Type of equipment – central lines, pca, foley, chest tubes, pacer wires, telemetry, drains

· EMR – Meditech

Must have: candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role.

· Able to read cardiac monitor

· Able to give narcotics

- Active RN license 

Preferred or nice to have: candidates with these skills will be considered first.

· Stepdown experience

· Cardiac knowledge

List typical procedures performed on unit(s):

· CABG, valve replacement, TAVR, Mitral clip, thoracotomy, Afib, CHF, MI

· Cardiac drips (popular Cardizem amiodarone, heparin, nitro)

· BLS, ACLS

· Tele and med surg

Weekends and On call:

· Every other weekend – overtime available
