Travel Occupational Therapist (OT) – Critical Access Hospital
Topeka, Kansas Area
Profession: Occupational Therapist
Setting: Critical Access Hospital
Coverage: Outpatient + Inpatient Acute Care + Swing Bed/Skilled Rehab
Schedule: Full-Time Travel Contract
Critical Access Hospital OT Opportunity – Topeka, KS
Ardor Health Solutions is seeking an Occupational Therapist for a Critical Access Hospital travel contract in the Topeka, Kansas area.
This is an excellent opportunity for an OT who enjoys variety, autonomy and working across multiple levels of care. Rather than spending your entire contract in one setting, you'll provide OT services across Outpatient, Inpatient Acute Care and Swing Bed/Skilled Rehab based on patient and facility needs.
What You'll Do
- Provide OT services across outpatient, acute and swing-bed populations
- Complete occupational therapy evaluations and develop individualized plans of care
- Address ADLs and functional independence
- Upper-extremity strengthening, ROM and coordination
- Functional mobility and transfer training
- Adaptive equipment and compensatory strategies
- Cognitive, safety and functional interventions as appropriate
- Work with acute patients following illness, injury, surgery or hospitalization
- Help Swing Bed patients regain the skills needed to safely transition home
- Provide patient and caregiver education
- Participate in discharge planning
- Collaborate closely with PT, nursing, physicians and the interdisciplinary hospital team
Why a Critical Access Hospital?
If you're an OT who likes clinical variety, this is the kind of contract that keeps things interesting.
You'll have the opportunity to work with patients at multiple stages of recovery—from someone receiving outpatient therapy to a hospitalized acute-care patient or a Swing Bed patient who needs additional rehabilitation before returning home.
Smaller hospital environments can also provide therapists with greater autonomy, interdisciplinary collaboration and the opportunity to make a noticeable impact on patient care.
Why the Topeka Area?
You'll have the convenience of being near Topeka while still enjoying the smaller-community feel that comes with a Critical Access Hospital assignment.
Lawrence is roughly 30 minutes from Topeka, giving you easy access to its restaurants, downtown and University of Kansas atmosphere. The Kansas City metro is about an hour away, opening up even more options for professional sports, concerts, restaurants, shopping and weekend entertainment.
It's a nice setup for a traveler who wants a smaller hospital environment without feeling completely removed from larger cities.
Why Travel with Ardor Health Solutions?
- Guaranteed weekly per diems—even during approved time off
- Double-time pay for hours worked between the facility's guaranteed hours and 40 hours
- Day 1 medical, dental and vision benefits
- Weekly pay
- Travel and licensing assistance
- Referral bonuses
- Dedicated recruiter support throughout your assignment
