Telemetry- WC-Surgical/Neuro 4th Floor- Cost Center:617010# Beds 48 (two units 4A and 4B)Ratios 1:5Required Certifications BLS ACLS
Common diagnosis / Types of patients COVID, resp, GI, Diabetics, Tele, TIA, CVA as well as general, orthopedic and spinal surgical patients,.Experience or 'Must have' skills Reading basic tele strips, some experience with general and orthopedic surgical patients, CVA and TIA. Cerner experience recommended as there is only one day of orientationAre RN's required to titrate drips NoCommon titratable &/or set rate drips Diltiazem at a set rateTele/Monitor Techs on this unit Do RN's read strips Tele is monitored remotely, tele techs are on the 3rd floor. Monitor techs read and post strips. RN s are required to interpret strips and sign at least once a shift.Charge Nurse/House Supervisor Both. charge does not take a patient assignmentAre there Nurse Aides on this unit/Ratios Yes 1:10-15RT/Equipment (ie Cpap, Bipap, High Flow) Bipap, Cpap, high flow, and some breathing treatments.Shifts & Scheduling Shifts are 12 hours 7-730 with a 30 min unpaid lunch. Schedules are made out for 4 weeks. Self-scheduling is used but not final until the manager balancesWeekend Requirement2 weekends per 4-week scheduleHoliday Requirement For Christmas, New Years, and Thanksgiving, I like them to work 2 days and 1 eve or 2 eves and a day (Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year s Eve, New Year s Day, Thanksgiving Day)Call or Standby Requirement NoFloating Requirements Yes, they may float to East Campus, and possibly PCU if qualifiedScrub Color/Dress Code Navy blue scrubsUnit/Department Specific Orientation Unit/Department Specific Orientation: 1 Shift of orientation on the unit.
