MED SURG RN – IHS FACILITY

Shift:

• 3 × 12-hour shifts per week
• Day or Night shifts available
• Weekend coverage required when scheduled; weekday time off will be provided accordingly

Contract Length:

• 3 months to 1 year

Benefits:

• Health & Welfare: $5.09/hr, up to 40 hours worked per week
• PTO: 5 days after 6 months + an additional 5 days after 1 year of service
• Accrued Sick Leave: 1 hour for every 36 hours worked
• 11 Paid Holidays following the Government calendar

Job Description:

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (Med Surg RN) to provide quality inpatient nursing care in an IHS healthcare facility. The ideal candidate will care for patients with a variety of medical and surgical conditions while collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure safe and effective patient care.

Requirements:

• Active, unrestricted RN license in any U.S. state or territory
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience preferred
• 2–3 professional references
• Strong clinical assessment and patient care skills
• Ability to meet IHS credentialing and background requirements

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to medical-surgical patients
• Assess patients, monitor changes in condition, and implement appropriate interventions
• Administer medications and treatments safely and monitor patient responses
• Develop and evaluate individualized patient care plans
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment, medications, and discharge instructions
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EHR
• Follow IHS, infection control, patient safety, and nursing standards
