ICU / CVICU RN – Massachusetts

Primary Unit: ICU
Float: CVICU required; may also float to Med/Surg Tele based on operational need and low census

Required Experience

• Prior critical care / ICU experience
• CVICU experience required
• Strong hemodynamic monitoring skills
• Ventilator management experience
• Intracranial pressure monitoring experience preferred/expected for ICU practice

Required License / Certifications

• Active Massachusetts RN license
• BLS
• ACLS

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN
• CCRN
• TCAR
• Approved De-escalation Certification

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care
• Administer medications and monitor patient response
• Manage high-acuity critically ill patients
• Perform and interpret hemodynamic monitoring
• Provide ventilator care and advanced critical care interventions
• Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation
• Coordinate care with physicians and the interdisciplinary team
• Provide patient/family education and discharge planning
• Supervise and delegate to ancillary staff appropriately
• Function as a clinical resource and demonstrate charge nurse proficiency
• Maintain patient safety, infection-control, and confidentiality standards

Recruiter Notes

This is primarily an ICU assignment with required CVICU floating, so candidates must have solid CVICU experience. Travelers must also be comfortable floating to Med/Surg Tele if ICU census is low. Strong critical care skills including vents and hemodynamic monitoring are important.
