Description
ICU / CVICU RN – Massachusetts
Primary Unit: ICU
Float: CVICU required; may also float to Med/Surg Tele based on operational need and low census
Required Experience
- Prior critical care / ICU experience
- CVICU experience required
- Strong hemodynamic monitoring skills
- Ventilator management experience
- Intracranial pressure monitoring experience preferred/expected for ICU practice
Required License / Certifications
- Active Massachusetts RN license
- BLS
- ACLS
Preferred Qualifications
- BSN
- CCRN
- TCAR
- Approved De-escalation Certification
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care
- Administer medications and monitor patient response
- Manage high-acuity critically ill patients
- Perform and interpret hemodynamic monitoring
- Provide ventilator care and advanced critical care interventions
- Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation
- Coordinate care with physicians and the interdisciplinary team
- Provide patient/family education and discharge planning
- Supervise and delegate to ancillary staff appropriately
- Function as a clinical resource and demonstrate charge nurse proficiency
- Maintain patient safety, infection-control, and confidentiality standards
Recruiter Notes
This is primarily an ICU assignment with required CVICU floating, so candidates must have solid CVICU experience. Travelers must also be comfortable floating to Med/Surg Tele if ICU census is low. Strong critical care skills including vents and hemodynamic monitoring are important.
