Description
Oncology / Surgical Oncology RN – Ambulatory Clinic
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Location: UC Irvine Medical Center – Orange, Ambulatory Clinic Building 21, 2nd Floor
Position Overview
- Primarily responsible for pre-operative patient care and coordination for patients scheduled for OR procedures.
- Significant focus on pre-op preparation, follow-ups, and care coordination.
- Provides care for patients with general hematology/oncology and surgical diagnoses.
- Breast cancer screening and evaluation of breast nodules/masses.
Required Qualifications
- BSN required
- BLS required
- Experience with care coordination
- Data abstraction experience
- EPIC experience
- Oncology or Surgical Oncology experience required
- Strong pre-op and post-visit follow-up experience
Patient Population
- General Hematology & Oncology
- Cancer/Surgical patients
- Breast cancer screening and breast mass/nodule patients
Procedures
- Simple dressing changes
- Occasional blood draws
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate pre-operative care for patients scheduled for OR procedures
- Complete pre-op assessments and preparation
- Coordinate follow-ups and ongoing patient care
- Perform data abstraction and documentation in EPIC
- Communicate with patients and multidisciplinary teams regarding appointments, procedures, and follow-up care
