First Connect Health has an immediate 13-week travel contract opening for an experienced Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) Registered Nurse (RN) in Polson, Montana. Operating within Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center—a scenic 22-bed Critical Access Hospital situated right on Flathead Lake—this position features a structured 3x12 overnight schedule (19:00 PM - 07:00 AM / 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) with a November start date. - Weekly Gross: $2,182.00
- Weekly Tax-Free Stipend: $1,246.00
- Hourly W2 Rate: $26.00/hr (36 regular hours)
- Overtime Rate: $39.00/hr
- (Facility also pre-approves 48-hour weekly schedules for nurses looking to maximize take-home pay)
📅 SHIFT & POSITION DETAILS
- Schedule: Night shifts, 3x12-Hours (19:00 PM - 07:00 AM / 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM). Self-scheduling model with rotation. Block scheduling is not offered.
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 regular hours guaranteed weekly (48-hour option approved).
- Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend rotation (evenly dispersed among staff).
- On-Call Requirements: Minimal on-call (maximum of once per two-week pay period) with a 30-minute arrival window. Standby call rate is $15.00/hr ($91.20/hr call-back rate at 1.3x).
- Clinical Scope & Critical Access Care: 3-room LDRP unit averaging a daily census of 2. True full-scope perinatal nursing: triaging obstetric complaints, managing labor, circulating C-sections, recovery, postpartum couplet care, and complete neonatal stabilization/assessment. Diagnoses include pregnancy-induced hypertension (PIH) and neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS).
- Equipment & Technology: Epic EMR, wireless fetal heart monitoring, and the JADA vacuum-induced hemorrhage control system for PPH.
- Floating Scope: Low census floating is limited to task assistance (helping hands with IV starts, answering phones, answering call lights). Zero outside patient care assignments when LDRP has no census!
- Scrubs & Parking: Any color scrubs allowed (OR scrubs provided); free on-site parking.
🚨 REQUISITE QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUBMISSION
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of recent clinical LDRP / Labor & Delivery RN experience is required. Prior travel experience is strictly mandatory (must be an experienced, autonomous traveler).
- Licensure: Active Montana RN License or Compact/NLC Multistate License must be active and in hand at submittal.
- Certifications Required: * Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS)
- S.T.A.B.L.E. and Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) are preferred.
- Rehire Eligibility: Former permanent employees of any non-Swedish Providence facility are eligible to return after a 3-month separation.
