Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist / X-Ray Technologist
Position: Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist / X-Ray Technologist
Department: Cardiology
Open Position: 1
Schedule: 5 × 8-hour shifts
Guaranteed Hours: 35 Hours/Week
Lunch: 1-hour unpaid lunch per shift
Weekend: Possible on-call requirement
Holidays: On-call only
Call: Rotating on-call schedule
Nurse Aides: Not available
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist / X-Ray Technologist to join the Cardiology team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Cardiac Catheterization and/or Interventional Radiology and be comfortable working in a fast-paced procedural environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support during cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures.
- Assist physicians and the clinical team during complex cardiovascular procedures.
- Operate and maintain radiologic and imaging equipment safely and effectively.
- Prepare patients, equipment, and procedure rooms for scheduled cases.
- Follow radiation safety, infection-control, and patient-safety protocols.
- Assist with contrast administration/injection as permitted by applicable requirements.
- Maintain accurate procedural documentation.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other members of the cardiovascular team.
- Participate in the rotating on-call schedule, including possible weekend and holiday coverage.
Required Qualifications
- New York State X-Ray Technologist License
- Certification to inject as required under applicable NY regulations
- BLS Certification – American Heart Association
- ACLS Certification – American Heart Association
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
- ARRT (Registered) or RCIS credential
- Cardiovascular credentialing through CCI or ARRT
Experience Required
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist or X-Ray Technologist
- At least 1 year of experience in an Interventional Radiology or Cardiac Catheterization Suite
- Strong knowledge of cardiovascular procedures and radiologic technology
- Ability to work effectively in a high-acuity procedural environment
Ideal Candidate: A skilled Cath Lab/X-Ray Technologist with strong cardiovascular experience, excellent technical knowledge, current required certifications, and the flexibility to participate in a rotating on-call schedule.
