Unit Specifics:

· Scrub Color(s): Navy or white

· Number of Beds: 20

· Patient Ratios: 1:2

· Unit staffing description (unit secretaries and tech availability):

o AM: 10 RNs (more if needed to account for 1:1s), 1 supervisor, 1 PCT, 1 ICU waiting room HUC

o PM: AM: 10 RNs (more if needed to account for 1:1s), 1 supervisor, 1 PCT, 1 ICU waiting room HUC

· Type of equipment: EVDs, Camino/bolts, wound vacs, Baxter IV pumps, GE Carescape bedside monitors, GE ventilators, iCool machines, Blanketrol blanket, Bair Hugger, Prisma Max CRRT, Zoll, Kangaroo feeding pumps, Alaris PCA pumps

· Documentation system: Cerner Power Chart

· Scheduling requirements: Required 6 weekend shifts, a 6-week schedule.

· Floating policy: Travelers float before core staff. Can float to other ICUs (MICU, NSICU, CVICU, CICU) or Step Down.

· Patient Experience requirements: Kind, compassionate

· Certifications: Magnet Hospital, ACS Verified Level I Trauma Center

Hiring profile

Requested Skill Set: Acute Care ICU Skills (No LTAC experience considered)

 

Must have:

· Trauma ICU experience (Level I or Level II Trauma Centers)

· Surgical ICU experience

 

Advanced skills needed: Looking for individuals that are team players, have positive attitudes and are flexible.

 

 

Procedures performed on unit: Intubation, extubation, chest tube placement, Central line placement, A-line placement, Foley placement, bronchoscopy, endoscopy, proning, TPA administration, hypertonic medication administration, trach placement, EVD/bold placement, CRRT/HD, irrigation and debridement, minor surgery

 

 

Certifications Required: Valid Nursing License, Active ACLS and BLS Certifications

 

 

Dress Code: (Required uniform)

· All navy or all white. Can also wear navy bottoms and white top.

Unit Guidelines/Policies: Please attach unit specific policies and guidelines.

· STICU Daily Operations attached
