  • Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Associate of Science in Nursing

Description

Director of Nursing (DON) – Travel Contract

Shift: Varied | 40 guaranteed hours/week
Contract: 13 weeks 
Radius: Traveler must reside 50+ miles from facility

Key Requirements:

  • Active, unencumbered RN license
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • BSN preferred
  • 5 years of management/leadership experience preferred
  • Long-Term Care experience preferred
  • Acute/Rehab experience preferred
  • BLS desired, not required
  • Strong nursing leadership, staffing, regulatory compliance, quality improvement and personnel-management experience

Role: This is a true Director of Nursing leadership position, not a bedside RN assignment. The DON oversees nursing operations, staffing, clinical standards, policies/procedures, staff competency, quality improvement, infection control, regulatory compliance, scheduling and nursing department performance. The DON also assumes the Administrator role in their absence.

Call/availability: Responsible for the nursing department's on-call schedule and is on call for the department; may work weekends/holidays as needed.

Important: Facility may call off/cancel up to 3 shifts during a 13-week assignment.
