Telemetry (Tele) RN — Oceanside, CA

Position Summary: Seeking a CN II-level Telemetry RN to join a fast-paced cardiac monitoring unit. This role calls for an experienced nurse who can work autonomously while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team, managing patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring and responding to acute changes in cardiac and neurological status.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and care for patients on continuous cardiac telemetry, performing detailed assessments and responding to acute changes in cardiac rhythm, neuro status, and overall condition
• Administer medications including non-titratable drips, monitoring for therapeutic effect
• Provide post-procedure care (post-cardiac catheterization, pacemaker insertion, 24-hour post-CABG, Watchman procedures)
• Develop and carry out individualized care plans for cardiac, neurological, and related conditions
• Interpret ECG/EKG and recognize/manage arrhythmias
• Educate patients and families on conditions, medications, and lifestyle modifications
• Respond promptly to cardiac emergencies (arrhythmias, chest pain) with advanced clinical skills
• Precept/mentor new grads, new hires, and students; may serve as Relief Charge Nurse as needed
• Document care accurately in the EHR per standards of care

Requirements:

• Active California RN license
• BLS (AHA) required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy certification required (Progressive Care Unit only)
• 2+ years RN experience in telemetry or equivalent intermediate care setting
• BSN required — OR ADN with 5+ years telemetry/intermediate care RN experience in lieu of BSN
• PCCN or CCRN (Adult) preferred, not required
• Proficiency with centralized cardiac monitoring systems

Shift: 12hr Nights, 3x12 (36 hrs/week, part-time)
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
