Contract Length

20 weeks

Shift

• 12-hour day shifts
• Weekend rotation required
• Holiday rotation required
• May be placed on call/standby

Required Qualifications

• Registered Nurse
• BLS certification
• 1 year of Med/Surg or Med-Tele experience
• Acute care experience
• Must be able to float to like units and patients
• Must be comfortable with IV starts

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS certification
• Experience or knowledge of TURPS-CBI
• Critical Access or Trauma Level 3 or 4 experience

Unit Details

• 24 inpatient beds
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratios: 5:1 on day shift and 6:1 at 11pm
• Team nursing with LPNs uses 2:7 ratios
• Common patient populations include medical, telemetry, and day surgical cases
• Small pediatric population may be assigned only if prior experience exists or if no other options are available

Work Environment

• Charge nurse works with an assignment
• Nurse aides are available
• Hospitalist coverage is available until 6pm daily, then telemedicine is used
• Respiratory therapy is available 24/7
• Telemetry monitoring is handled in ICU daily
• Limited onsite resources

Schedule Notes

• 12-hour shifts: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM and 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
• Self-scheduling may be accommodated
• Longer blocks of 6 shifts may be considered when possible

Orientation

• Day 1: 8 hours of computer education and 4 hours of shadowing
• Day 2: 12-hour orientation shift
• Day 3: independent

Additional Notes

• Solid professional attire; no specific scrub color required
• Must clock in and out at the facility
• Candidates who have previously worked for this employer must have ended employment at least 6 months before submission
