Description

🔪 OR Case Mix

This is primarily based at St. Patrick Campus and covers a very broad OR case mix:

Orthopedics: Mako total knees, total hips, gamma nails
Podiatry: Bunions, ankle scopes, foot/ankle fractures
Hand: Fractures, CMC
Spine/Crani: ALIF, DLIF, TLIF, kyphoplasty, crani
General: Chole, appy, hernia, colon, robotic
Urology: TURP, cystoscopy, stones
Limited pediatrics — ortho only
Adult & geriatric patients

🔄 Floating

The traveler may float between St. Patrick and Lake Area campuses, but only within the OR.

Lake Area cases include:

Pain
ENT — including pediatric
Urology
Gynecology
Podiatry
General
Some orthopedics

📞 Call / Weekends

This is the major consideration:

Call: 1–2 times per week
Every 3rd weekend
Weekend call runs Friday–Sunday

📋 Requirements

1 year OR experience preferred
BLS required
Active LA RN license or compact license
BSN preferred

👤 Patient Ratio

1:1

This is a strong broad-spectrum OR contract for a traveler who wants to stay busy across multiple specialties. The case mix is particularly good for an experienced general OR RN with ortho, spine, robotics, general, and urology experience.

The biggest selling point is the 11a–7p weekday schedule, but the tradeoff is significant call: 1–2 times per week + every 3rd weekend.
