Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
• Holds or is eligible for a teaching license with an endorsement in the appropriate subject area
• Knowledge of subject content, specialized curriculum, and individualized teaching methodologies
• Skilled in multimedia and assistive technology
• Ability to establish effective collaborative relationships with students, colleagues, administrators, and parents
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Excellent human relations skills

Responsibilities

• Manage special education cases
• Develop, implement, and oversee IEPs
• Prepare progress reports, IEPs, meeting notices, prior written notices, and related documents
• Schedule and facilitate IEP meetings
• Develop and implement behavior intervention plans
• Participate in problem-solving teams
• Communicate with multidisciplinary team members
• Complete required service documentation and billing requirements
• Apply current research and theory to programming and decision-making
• Provide direction and supervision to district personnel, including paraprofessionals or new teachers
• Perform other duties as assigned
