Registered Nurse - Emergency Department (RN)

Position: Registered Nurse - Emergency Department
Specialty/Department: Emergency Department
Contract Length: 16 Weeks
Shift: Night Shift (6:30 PM - 7:00 AM)
Schedule: Sunday - Saturday
Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours/Week
Start Date: 10/05/2026
End Date: 01/23/2027
Candidate Type: Local & Travel Candidates Accepted
Local Radius Rule: 75 Miles

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) to join a high-volume Emergency Department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in emergency nursing, including experience caring for pediatric and adult patient populations. Travel experience is required.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in a fast-paced Emergency Department.
  • Care for patients presenting with a wide range of conditions including:
    • Stroke
    • Sepsis
    • Trauma
    • Myocardial Infarction (MI)
    • Cardiac Arrest
    • Respiratory Failure
  • Utilize specialty equipment including Rapid Infusor and Arctic Sun systems.
  • Provide care to newborn, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient care.
  • Float to other units as required.
  • Serve in a charge nurse role when needed (highly preferred experience).

  • 64 Total Beds
    • 2 Triage Beds
    • 40 Acute Care Beds
    • 6 Super Track Beds
    • 2 Trauma Beds
    • 10 Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) Beds
    • 6 Psychiatric Beds

Requirements

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required.
  • Pediatric Emergency experience required.
  • Previous travel nursing experience required.
  • Charge nurse experience highly preferred.
  • Experience with EPIC EMR required.

Certifications (Must Be Active and In Hand at Submission)

  • AHA BLS
  • AHA ACLS
  • PALS
  • NIHSS
  • TNCC

Licensure

  • Active New York RN License required.
  • NURSYS verification report required.
  • All active RN licenses must be disclosed and verified.

Submission Requirements

  • Updated resume showing Emergency Department experience and travel assignments.
  • Skills checklist matching specialty.
  • Driver's license with address matching candidate demographics.
  • Requested Time Off (RTO) must be included at the time of submission.

Overtime

  • Daily OT after 24 hours (based on multiplier)
  • Weekly OT after 48 hours (based on multiplier)
