🔥 NIGHT-SHIFT LABOR & DELIVERY RN CONTRACT – MEDICAL CENTER HOSPITAL

First Connect Health has an immediate 13-week travel contract opening for an experienced Labor and Delivery (L&D) Registered Nurse (RN) in Odessa, Texas (West Texas Permian Basin). Operating within the 17-bed obstetric service line at Medical Center Hospital, this position offers a structured 3x12 overnight schedule (18:45 PM - 07:15 AM / 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM). Straight 36-hour schedules or alternating 36/48-hour configurations are considered! 💰 PRE-CALCULATED PAY PACKAGE

Weekly Gross: $2,586.00
Weekly Tax-Free Stipend: $1,470.00
Hourly W2 Rate: $31.00/hr (36 regular hours)
Overtime Rate: $46.50/hr
(Facility also considers alternating 36/48-hour weekly schedules for higher gross earnings)

📅 SHIFT & POSITION DETAILS

Schedule: Night shifts, 3x12-Hours (18:45 PM - 07:15 AM / 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM). Self-scheduling model with rotation. Block scheduling is not offered.
Guaranteed Hours: 36 regular hours guaranteed weekly.
Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend rotation (scheduled as 6 weekend shifts per 6-week scheduling block).
On-Call Requirements: Standby on-call rate is $5.00/hr.
Clinical Scope & Patient Ratios: 17-bed L&D unit with active labor patient ratios maintained at 1:2. Full-scope perinatal care including triage, high-risk antepartum, labor induction/augmentation, C-section circulating and PACU recovery, sterile speculum/vaginal exams, and post-delivery couplet care.
Procedures & Skills: External and internal fetal monitoring (spiral electrodes and IUPC placement/calibration), vacuum/forceps deliveries, obstetrical hemorrhage protocols, and insulin/magnesium sulfate drips.
Delivery Room Neonatal Care: Attending high-risk deliveries, radiant warmers, baby nurse ("baby catcher") role, APGAR scoring, and immediate neonatal resuscitation.
EMR System: Cerner experience preferred.

🚨 REQUISITE QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUBMISSION

Experience: Minimum 2 years of clinical Labor & Delivery RN experience is required. Prior travel experience is required.
Licensure: Active Texas RN License or Compact/NLC Multistate License must be active and in hand at submittal.
Certifications Required: * American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS)
- AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM)
- S.T.A.B.L.E. certification is required per job specifications.
Radius Rule: Candidates residing within a 50-mile radius of the facility are strictly ineligible (local candidates not accepted).
