🏥 About the Role
As a CVICU Registered Nurse, you’ll provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients while working closely with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and continuously monitor patient status.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care.
- Provide direct nursing care, therapies, and treatments according to established standards.
- Monitor and evaluate patient responses to treatments and interventions.
- Recognize changes in patient condition and take appropriate clinical action.
- Provide patient and family education, health teaching, and counseling.
- Execute appropriate delegated medical functions within scope of practice.
- Coordinate referrals and additional evaluations when clinically indicated.
- Review and monitor treatment and therapy plans.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation.
- Utilize available clinical and organizational resources effectively.
- Collaborate with physicians and other members of the healthcare team.
- Maintain professional standards and support a patient-centered care environment.
- Float to other departments when required, provided the assignment is within your competency and qualifications.
- Be available for on-call coverage during a regularly scheduled shift if required.
✅ Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
- ASN/Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program
- Current Registered Nurse license in the state of practice
- BLS – American Heart Association
- ACLS
- NIH/NIHSS certification
- Strong critical-care assessment, communication, and clinical decision-making skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment

- BSN preferred
- Previous CVICU/critical-care experience
- Experience caring for complex cardiovascular or critically ill patients
