Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Unit / Progressive Care Unit (ICU RN)

Location: St. Luke's Magic Valley Medical Center, Twin Falls, Idaho (801 Pole Line Rd W)

Compensation & Schedule Details
- Hours & Shift: Night shift (36 hours per week, 1900–0700; 12-hour shifts). Block scheduling considered if it fits unit needs.
- Contract Length: Travel contract (Target Start Date: September 28, 2026).
- Weekend & Holiday Requirements: Usually every other weekend; holidays worked as needed. No on-call requirement (extra shifts available).
Key Facility Policies & Unit Scope
- Unit Overview & Ratios: Combined 30-bed unit (16 ICU beds and 14 PCU beds). ICU ratios are 1:1–2; PCU ratios are 1:3. Floating occurs between ICU and PCU patients within the unit.
- Support Staff & Providers: CNAs (1:8 ratio), 24/7 in-unit RT, 24/7 in-house hospitalists, and daytime intensivists (eICU coverage at night). Charge nurse is non-staffing.
- Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs required.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of ICU experience preferred, plus prior travel nursing experience.
- Clinical Skills: Must have specific experience with Thermoguard/Zoll cooling devices for Targeted Temperature Management (TTM). Must be proficient in reading telemetry strips, titrating standard ICU/vasoactive drips, and managing ventilators and CRRT (no open CV surgery patients).
- Licensure: Active Idaho (ID) RN license or multi-state compact RN license in hand.
- Certifications & Systems: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS required at submittal. Recent Epic charting experience is strictly required.

Cons
Lack benefits and perks other companies offer. Was incorrectly paid more than once. The assignment was the worst I’ve experienced from management down to housekeeping. They nitpick travelers on every level and give them double the respiratory therapist to patient ratio with every assignment spread over multiple floors and areas on every side of the facility. Staff makes no attempt at teamwork. Bottom line: Malone is ok🥴 but has MUCH room to improve. Elizabethtown, KY is awful and puts their patients and your license at risk every shift. Don’t do it!
