Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse - Operating Room / Circulator (OR RN)

Location: UNC Health Onslow, Jacksonville, North Carolina (317 Western Blvd)

Compensation & Schedule Details
- Hours & Shift: 40 hours per week (5x8 Days, 0700–1530, Monday through Friday). Target start date: September 28 or October 5, 2026.
- On-Call & Weekend Requirements: On-call required (typically 1 night per week, plus rotation for nights, weekends, and holidays). Weekend requirement of 2–3 shifts per 6-week schedule.
- Distance & RTO Rules: Strict 50-mile radius rule (no local travelers accepted). All Requested Time Off (RTO) must be disclosed at initial submission (maximum 5 days; manager approval required).
Key Facility Policies & Compliance Mandates
- Documentation & Verification: Must include a current Nursys report dated within the past 7 days with the submittal packet, and clearly indicate if the candidate is a former UNC Health employee. Background checks and licenses must be completely free of open or unresolved findings.
- Patient Ratios: 1:1 intraoperative staffing ratio. Responsible for complete perioperative assessment, individualized intraoperative care planning, and immediate patient evaluation.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of main hospital OR experience required.
- Licensure: Active North Carolina (NC) RN license or multi-state compact license in hand.
- Certifications: AHA BLS and AHA ACLS required at submittal.

Cons
Lack benefits and perks other companies offer. Was incorrectly paid more than once. The assignment was the worst I’ve experienced from management down to housekeeping. They nitpick travelers on every level and give them double the respiratory therapist to patient ratio with every assignment spread over multiple floors and areas on every side of the facility. Staff makes no attempt at teamwork. Bottom line: Malone is ok🥴 but has MUCH room to improve. Elizabethtown, KY is awful and puts their patients and your license at risk every shift. Don’t do it!
