Position Title: MRI Tech                                

Location: Palo Alto, CA

Total Travel Package: $2,769 / week

*Must reside over 50 miles away to qualify for the travel package*

·        Taxable wages: $900.00

·        Weekly lodging allowance: $1,225.00

·        Weekly meals / incidentals: $644.00

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performs MRI examinations of the brain, body, spine and extremities on patients of all ages effectively adjusting scanning parameters for different patient body habitus.  Selects and modifies technical factors to enhance images; uses flare and SAT imaging techniques
• Determines appropriate equipment for scanning up to but not limited to body coils
• Must be able to closely follow a physician’s instructions, prepares and operates MRI equipment, position patients correctly and effectively record the requested diagnostic images
• Identifies gross pathology in the human body and adjusts T1 and T2 scanning parameters to provide pertinent information for interpretation.
• Performs Diffusion studies, MR Angiograms, reformats and MIP imaging
• Uses magnetic resonance and adjusts parameters to minimize exposure to patient and self
• Follows established protocols and uses scanning techniques to include, window and contrast levels, scanning time sequences, scanning delays, scanning thickness, FOV, scout images, reformatting, images reconstruct and 3-D image reconstruct.
• Photographs, archives and retrieves images
• Performs quality control for procedures and equipment.  Documents systems failures and variances in the appropriate logbook and arranges for service when necessary

 Requirements:

At least 1 year of previous MRI Tech experience - Required

Required Education:
-Completion of an accredited Radiologic technology or Magnetic Resonance Imaging MRI program.

Required Certifications & Licensure:
-Current American Heart Association AHA Certification for Basic Life Support BLS.
-American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Magnetic Resonance Imaging Certification MR.
OR
-American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists ARMRIT.

Schedule:

 3 12-hour shifts, any day Monday - Sunday (will mostly be weekend coverage)
