🚑 Position Overview
The ED RN provides safe, efficient, and compassionate nursing care to patients presenting with a wide range of emergent and acute conditions. You'll work closely with physicians and the interdisciplinary team while using strong assessment skills, clinical judgment, and prioritization in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform rapid and comprehensive patient assessments
- Triage and prioritize patients based on acuity and clinical needs
- Monitor patient conditions and recognize changes requiring immediate intervention
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions according to established standards
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals
- Provide care for patients across a broad range of emergency presentations
- Maintain a safe, therapeutic, and patient-centered environment
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment, medications, and follow-up care
- Participate in discharge planning and continuity of care
- Delegate appropriately and coordinate care with other members of the healthcare team
- Utilize critical thinking and independent clinical judgment in high-pressure situations
🩺 Required Certifications
- BLS – Required
- ACLS – Required
- PALS – Required
- NIHSS – Required
- CPI, TEAM, or TEAM-A – Required
- Active RN license in the state of practice
📋 Experience & Education
- Previous Emergency Department / acute-care experience preferred
- BSN preferred
- Strong assessment, prioritization, communication, and critical-thinking skills
