Location: Akron, Ohio
Assignment Type: Long-Term Contract
Assignment Dates: October 18, 2026 – January 16, 2027
Shift: Day and Night
Schedule: 12-hour shifts

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Progressive Care Unit (PCU)/Telemetry Registered Nurse for a long-term assignment on a specialized 32-bed Cardiac Progressive Care/Telemetry unit. The unit primarily cares for patients with Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) and other cardiac conditions.
The ideal candidate will have strong PCU/Telemetry experience, excellent cardiac assessment skills, and the ability to provide safe, high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to PCU/Telemetry patients.
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, EKGs, and rhythm changes.
- Manage patients receiving heparin and other cardiac-related IV therapies.
- Administer blood products safely and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
- Perform blood draws and initiate, maintain, and troubleshoot IV access.
- Assess patient conditions and promptly communicate changes to the healthcare team.
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established protocols.
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals.
- Float to other units as required and within scope of practice.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.
Unit & Patient Care
- 32-bed Cardiac PCU/Telemetry unit
- Primary specialty: CHF/Cardiac Care
- Approximate staffing ratio:
- Days: 1 RN : 4 patients
- Nights: 1 RN : 5 patients
- Strong cardiac/telemetry assessment skills are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible to practice in Ohio.
- 2+ years of recent PCU/Telemetry nursing experience.
- Strong cardiac and telemetry nursing experience.
- Proficiency with:
- EKG interpretation
- Cardiac rhythm changes
- Heparin drips
- Blood product administration
- IV initiation and maintenance
- Blood draws
- BLS certification – Required
- ACLS certification – Required
- Willingness and ability to float – Required.
- Nursing degree from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited program – Required.
- Recent Epic experience within the last 12 months must be clearly listed on the resume.
Assignment Requirements
- RTO must be provided at the time of submission.
- Maximum 7 days of RTO permitted.
- No RTO will be accepted during the first two weeks of the assignment.
- Block scheduling requests will not be accepted.
- Solid black scrubs are required.
- Candidate must successfully complete the required interview and facility competency/testing process.
- Candidates should provide their availability for interview (dates/times) with submission.

Ideal Candidate: A confident PCU/Telemetry RN with at least 2 years of recent experience who is highly proficient in cardiac monitoring, EKG interpretation, IV therapy, heparin drips, blood administration, and managing medically complex cardiac patients.
