PCU/TELE RN – Interview Required
Location: Akron Campus
Address: 141 N. Forge St., Akron, OH 44304
Assignment Dates: 10/18/2026 – 01/16/2027
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
And Night shift- 7:30pm - 7am
Unit: 32-Bed Cardiac Progressive Care/Telemetry
Specialty: CHF
Ratios: 1:4 Days | 1:5 Nights
Float: Required
Interview: Required
Scrubs: Solid Black
Position Overview:
We are seeking a strong and experienced PCU/Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to join a 32-bed Cardiac Progressive Care/Telemetry unit specializing in Congestive Heart Failure (CHF). The ideal candidate will have strong PCU/Telemetry experience and be comfortable managing cardiac patients in a fast-paced progressive-care environment.
MUST-HAVE REQUIREMENTS:
- 2+ years of recent PCU/Telemetry RN experience
- ACLS and BLS required
- Must be willing to float
- Epic experience within the last 12 months
- Must be clearly listed on the resume
- Nursing degree from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited program
- Must be proficient in:
- Heparin drips
- Blood product administration
- EKG interpretation
- Recognizing and responding to cardiac rhythm changes
- Recent experience drawing blood/phlebotomy
- Experience starting and maintaining IVs
- Solid black scrubs required
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to cardiac PCU/Telemetry patients.
- Care for patients with CHF and other progressive-care cardiac conditions.
- Perform ongoing patient assessments and cardiac monitoring.
- Interpret EKGs and recognize significant rhythm changes.
- Manage and monitor heparin drips according to orders and facility protocols.
- Administer and monitor blood products safely.
- Perform blood draws and phlebotomy.
- Start, maintain, and monitor IV access.
- Administer medications and treatments.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation, including Epic documentation.
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team.
- Float to other units as required.
RTO & Scheduling Requirements:
- RTO must be provided at the time of submission
- Maximum 7 days of RTO accepted
- Candidates with more than 7 days of RTO will be automatically rejected
- No RTO during the first two weeks of the assignment
- No block-scheduling requests will be accepted
Critical Resume Requirements:
Epic experience within the last 12 months must be clearly documented on the resume. Candidates must also demonstrate 2+ years of PCU/Telemetry experience along with hands-on blood draw and IV start/maintenance experience..
