Key Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory assessments and prescribed respiratory therapies.
• Monitor and maintain mechanical ventilation.
• Evaluate and document patient response to respiratory interventions.
• Obtain and analyze blood gas specimens.
• Perform skin testing and report results.
• Communicate with physicians and nursing staff regarding patient progress and therapy changes.
• Maintain respiratory equipment and related documentation.
• Provide patient/family education.
• Monitor staffing, workflow, and equipment areas.
• Serve as a resource to technicians and assume charge responsibilities when needed.
• Handle emergency situations and provide CPR when required.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy
• Credential: CRT or RRT through the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)
• BLS: Required
• NRP: Required
• Massachusetts RT License: Required
• Clinical experience from school training and beyond
• Ability to work independently and handle emergency situations.
• Must be able to perform physical duties including lifting up to 100 lbs.
• Must be able to perform unaided CPR and wear required PPE.
