Description
Surgical Technologist – Surgery
Location: Peoria, IL
Job Details
- Start Date: October 19, 2026
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–3:30 PM
- Hours: 40 hours per week
- On-Call: Required, including weekends and holidays
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain sterile fields, instruments, and surgical equipment.
- Assist surgeons during routine and complex surgical procedures.
- Anticipate surgeon preferences and procedural needs.
- Perform first scrub, first assist, and second scrub duties as required.
- Maintain accurate surgical counts in collaboration with the circulating RN.
- Respond effectively to emergencies and intraoperative changes.
- Assist with case closing, dressing application, patient transfers, and room turnover.
- Mentor and precept surgical technologists, RNs, and students.
- Maintain patient privacy and communicate effectively with the surgical team.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of Surgical Technologist experience.
- Associate degree in Surgical Technology OR completion of a Surgical Technology program.
- BLS certification (American Heart Association).
- IDPH Fingerprinting required.
- Strong critical thinking and communication skills.
- Ability to work on-call shifts, including weekends and holidays.
