Unit Specifics:

·         Number of Beds: 23

·         Patient Ratios: 1:1 (occasional), 1:2 (frequently), 1:3 (frequently), 1:4 (very rarely) -- dependent upon acuity

·         Unit staffing description (unit secretaries and tech availability): no techs or secretary

·         Type of equipment: Giraffe Omnibed, Panda warmer, Drager vent, oscillator, Alaris IV pump, syringe feeding pump, nasal canula, bubble/vent CPAPs, NIPPV, neo-T resuscitator

·         Documentation system: Centricity Perinatal and Meditech

·         Scheduling requirements: 36hrs/week with occasional optional overtime, variable weekends, willingness to take standby/call if low census highly preferred

·         Floating policy: not required but may float to mother-baby as a tech, if desired (occasional need only)

·         Patient Experience requirements: level III or IV NICU experience

·        Certifications Required: BLS, NRP, STABLE

Hiring profile

Requested Skill Set: level III or IV NICU skillset

Must have: MINIMUM one year of NICU nursing experience

Advanced skills needed: N/A

Procedures performed on unit:  PIV insertion, feeding tube insertion, lab draws, straight catheterization, central line management, airway/respiratory management (in conjunction with RRT)

Assist RRT/provider with: intubation, surfactant administration, central line placement, chest tube placement, etc.

Certifications Required: BLS, NRP, STABLE
