Travel Physical Therapist (PT) – Acute Care Hospital
South Hill, Virginia
We are seeking a Travel Physical Therapist for a 13-week acute care hospital contract in South Hill, Virginia. This role is a great fit for a PT with acute care experience who is comfortable working in a hospital setting and supporting patients with mobility, strength, safety, and discharge readiness.
This opportunity requires strong clinical judgment, collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, and experience treating patients in an acute care environment.

Responsibilities
- Perform acute care physical therapy evaluations and reassessments.
- Treat patients with medically complex, post-surgical, orthopedic, neurological, and mobility-related needs.
- Provide gait training, transfer training, balance training, therapeutic exercise, and functional mobility interventions.
- Support discharge planning through mobility assessments and safety recommendations.
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, OT, SLP, case management, and the interdisciplinary care team.
- Document patient care and progress accurately in EPIC.
- Help patients regain strength, mobility, and functional independence during hospitalization.
Requirements
- Virginia PT license required.
- BLS required.
- Acute care experience required.
- EPIC experience required.
- VA temporary license may be accepted if candidate holds an active license in another state.
- Manager cannot accept a start date before 11/16/26.
