General Information

Shift Details- Please correct information below if needed:

  • Quantity: ­_
  • Assignment Length: 13 weeks
  • Shift/Workdays: 7A-7:30P / 7P-7:30A / 1P-1:30A / 3P-3:30A
  • Weekend: Rotating
  • Call Requirements: No
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36
  • Special Skills/Experience required: 2 years +

***All travelers are required to float, while on the interview please inform traveler of the Methodist Floating Policy***

Unit Specifics - Information below is requested for better sourcing:

  • 3Number of Beds : 36 plus 2 trauma rooms
  • Patient Ratios : 3:1
  • Unit staffing description- (unit secretaries and tech availability) : Unit clerk, Pharmacist, Tech, Midlevel providers and Physicians
  • Type of equipment : standard ER equipment specific for Pedi management
  • Documentation system: Meditech
  • Scheduling requirements: 3-12 hour shifts
  • Floating policy: first to float to ED holds or inpatient as needed
  • Patient Experience requirements: high quality care

Hospital Specifics:

  • Certifications: BLS, PALS, ENPC, TNCC

Hiring profile

Requested Skill Set:

Must have: (candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role)

  • BLS
  • PALS or ENPC
  • TNCC
  • At least 2+ YEARS of ED Experience
  • Skill set in working in a pediatic environment

Preferred Skills/Advanced Skills Needed: (candidates with these skills will be considered first)

  • Leadership Skills – Charge Nurse or Nursing educator
  • Accessing and performing care and interventions on all pediatric patients
  • Meditech Experience Preferred

Specialty/Unit Certifications Required: (RN)

 

  • Active TX RN License-Temp License are NO longer accepted

Procedures performed on unit:

  • IV’s
  • In and out Caths
  • Medication Reconciliation

 

Dress Code: Include requirements, but most of all not acceptable attire.

  • Scrub Color
  • RN: Navy (undershirts and jackets white, navy, black only)-NO hooded jackets or sweaters
  • Nail Policy – No artificial nails or nail polish
  • Hair – Off shoulders, natural color
  • Tattoos – Body art should be covered whenever possible. Body art that is not fessible to cover on a daily basis will be addressed individually
  • Piercings – Visible piercings other than ears, is prohibited.

  • We are a new facility with a culture or team work. We are fast paced and see approximately 200 patients during our winter season but have seen our numbers increase to over 250 per day. We welcome a hardworking, self-motivated individual with a passion for high quality care and excellence in service.
