Job Summary

The Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) provides coordinated, patient-centered nursing care to assigned patients in accordance with established standards of care and the nursing process.

The RN works collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals, supervises and directs assigned nursing staff as appropriate, and uses critical thinking, professional judgment, and independent decision-making to provide safe and effective patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients in the Emergency Room according to established standards and the nursing process.
• Assess patient needs and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Coordinate patient care with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare disciplines.
• Monitor patient conditions and respond appropriately to changes in clinical status.
• Use critical thinking and independent judgment in emergency and acute-care situations.
• Supervise and direct activities of assigned nursing staff as appropriate.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.
• Follow facility policies, procedures, and applicable standards of nursing practice.

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of practice — Required.
• EPIC experience — Required.
• AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS — Required.
• AHA-PALS or ARC-PALS — Required.
• BLS/CPR from an approved vendor — Required.
• Ability to work night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (36 hours/week).

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — Preferred.
• Previous acute-care facility experience — Preferred.

Certifications & Licensure

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — Required
• BLS/CPR from an approved vendor — Required
• AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS — Required
• AHA-PALS or ARC-PALS — Required
• EPIC experience — Required
