Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) to provide safe, efficient, and compassionate care to patients presenting with a wide range of acute and emergent conditions. The RN will perform comprehensive assessments, prioritize care based on patient acuity, respond to rapidly changing conditions, and collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced Emergency Department environment.

The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong critical-thinking, clinical judgment, emergency nursing, and patient-management skills while maintaining high standards of patient safety and quality care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department
• Perform rapid assessments and prioritize patients according to acuity
• Monitor patients for changes in condition and initiate appropriate interventions
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and emergency treatments safely
• Respond promptly to medical emergencies and rapidly changing patient conditions
• Assist with emergency procedures and resuscitation efforts
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams
• Supervise and direct assigned nursing staff as required
• Coordinate patient care, transfers, admissions, and discharges
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EPIC
• Apply critical thinking, professional judgment, and independent decision-making in emergency situations
• Maintain compliance with facility policies, nursing standards, and patient-safety requirements

Schedule

• Night Shift
• 3 × 12-hour shifts per week
• 36 hours per week
• EPIC experience is REQUIRED

Required Qualifications & Certifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
• Previous Emergency Department/ED nursing experience preferred
• EPIC experience – REQUIRED
• BLS – Required
• AHA ACLS or ARC-ALS – Required
• AHA PALS or ARC-PALS – Required

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN – Preferred
• Previous acute-care facility experience – Preferred
• Prior experience caring for high-acuity and emergency patients

Ideal Candidate

The ideal ED RN will be confident managing multiple patients with varying levels of acuity, able to prioritize care effectively, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication, teamwork, emergency response, and clinical decision-making skills are essential for success in this role.
