UNIT: Medical/Oncology 7AB Floor

**Clinical Interview Services**

**Cannot have RTO within 2 weeks of starting and no more than 7 days of RTO total**

No new travelers - MUST have completed 1 travel assignment REQUIRED

Required certs : GA or compact RN license required, Chemo certification, AHA BLS, and AHA NIHSS

Preferred: AHA ACLS (highly preferred)

Minimum experience: 2+ years of recent experience on an Oncology/MS unit

Because this unit serves as the primary cohort location for patients with Sickle Cell Disease, we are seeking a clinician who is confident and experienced in managing high acuity pain needs. The ideal candidate will be comfortable operating PCA pumps, administering and reassessing frequent pain interventions, and escalating barriers to effective pain control, particularly during Sickle Cell crises.

Candidates must have demonstrated experience with:

•             Peripheral IV insertions

•             Sickle Cell management

•             Tracheostomy care and management

Weekly hours: 36 or 48 is an option.  Hours not guaranteed week of orientation - First week of orientation will be day shift

Float Requirements: Potentially to all acute care and cardio to take care of medical, or Emergency Center for acute care patient holds; mid-shift floats are uncommon (emergent needs only). Potential for North Campus (1.8 miles from Memorial Hospital).

Weekend requirements: Rotate every other

Holidays: Must work 2 out of 3 holidays

On call/Call Back: is rare

Break: 30 minutes

EMR: Meditech Expanse REQUIRED - (HCA Meditech experience will NOT be accepted)

Education: Associates required; bachelor’s degree preferred

Unit overview: This is a 29 bed inpatient unit that operates as a combined Oncology and Medical Surgical service. The Med/Surg side cares for clean patients; individuals with active infections are not placed on this unit unless they are receiving active chemotherapy. The unit also serves as the primary location for patients with sickle cell disease, though these patients may be assigned to other units based on overall hospital needs.

Patient ratios: Ratios 1:6 for both days and nights

Nurse Aides- Yes, CNA's 1:8, generally 1:10, do get as sitters

Radius rule: 75 miles

Scrub requirement/Uniform: Caribbean blue or white
