Physical Therapist – Psychiatric Setting

Location: Staten Island, NY
Pay: $55–$60/hour, depending on experience
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 10:00 AM–2:00 PM
Hours: 20 hours/week
Assignment Length: Anticipated 2 years
 

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Physical Therapist to provide care in a psychiatric/behavioral health setting.

Requirements

• Current, unrestricted New York Physical Therapist license
• BLS certification required
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution
• DPT preferred
• 2–5 years of clinical Physical Therapy experience
• Psychiatric, behavioral health, or inpatient rehabilitation experience strongly preferred
• Experience working with patients with complex medical and behavioral needs
• Strong ability to perform PT evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans
• Experience with mobility, gait/balance, therapeutic exercise, transfers and fall prevention

Patient Population

Experience working with psychiatric inpatients, geriatric patients, and individuals with co-occurring medical conditions is preferred.

Required Screening

Selected candidates will be required to provide:

• Statewide Central Register Database Check
• Criminal Background Check
• QuantiFERON Gold test dated within 6 months
• Hepatitis B titers dated within 1 year
• MMR and Varicella titers dated within 1 year
• Proof of Flu vaccination
