We are seeking an experienced Critical Care Registered Nurse (ICU/CCU RN) to provide direct, individualized nursing care to critically ill patients in a hospital setting. The RN will be responsible for comprehensive patient assessment, medication and IV management, critical-care monitoring, emergency response, patient education, and accurate clinical documentation.

Requirements

• Current AHA BLS certification
• Current AHA ACLS certification
• Valid RN professional license in the state of practice or qualifying Nurse Licensure Compact license
• For compact-license candidates:
  • Verification of required suicide training
  • Verification of demographic information through Nursys e-Notify
• Proof of authorization to work in the United States
• Previous hospital-based critical care/ICU/CCU experience

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct and individualized nursing care to critically ill patients.
• Assess patient conditions and collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate care plans.
• Administer and document prescribed medications through oral, subcutaneous, and IV routes.
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions to medications and treatments and report findings according to hospital policy.
• Provide comprehensive bedside nursing care.
• Monitor and document vital signs and changes in patient condition.
• Initiate patient and family education based on the patient's condition and treatment plan.
• Educate patients and significant others regarding medications, nutrition, exercise, rehabilitation, and post-treatment care.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests as permitted within the RN's scope and facility protocols.
• Collect specimens for laboratory testing and evaluate laboratory results.
• Prepare equipment and assist physicians with examinations and treatments.
• Respond promptly to life-threatening situations according to critical-care nursing standards and protocols.
• Apply hemodynamic, phlebotomy, and IV protocols.
• Monitor specialized critical-care equipment and interpret electronic displays.
• Monitor central venous pressures (CVP), pulmonary artery pressures, and cardiac rhythms.
• Monitor ventilators, respirators, oxygen delivery equipment, and other life-support systems.
• Monitor catheters, leads, and tubing for proper placement and functioning.
• Recognize abnormal patient or equipment findings and initiate appropriate corrective action.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and timely clinical documentation.
