Care Setting: Acute Care
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
Shift: 12-hour Days
Schedule: Every Other Weekend (EOW)
Call: Required

Schedule & Call Requirements

• 12-hour day shifts
• Every other weekend requirement
• Call is included
• 3 weekday evening/night call shifts and 3 weekend call shifts per 6-week schedule
• 30-minute call response time
• Holidays rotate with core staff

Department Details

• Operating Suites: 11
• Typically staffed: 6–7 suites/day
• Cases: 15–30/day
• RN-to-patient ratio: 1:1
• OR Technicians: Certified Surgical Technologists (CSTs)
• Charge Nurse: Charge RN responsible for assignments for the following day
• Orientation: Approximately 1 week or until the nurse is comfortable
• Scrub Color: Provided by facility

• EMR: Cerner / SurgiNet
• Telemetry: Available
• Ventilators: Available
• RT Coverage: 24/7
• Pharmacy: 24/7
• IV Team: No dedicated IV team
• On-call providers: Trauma surgeon and anesthesiologist

Required Qualifications & Certifications

• Active nursing license required for submission
• BSN not required
• Required certifications:
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • PALS
• Previous OR/perioperative nursing experience preferred
