Assignment Overview

This is an opportunity for an experienced Behavioral Health ER RN to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment serving a diverse patient population.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of recent Behavioral Health ER nursing experience in a Level 1 Trauma institution located in a metropolitan area. This role requires a nurse who is comfortable managing high-acuity behavioral health emergencies and working in a busy, fast-paced environment.

Patient Population & Responsibilities

Patients may present with urgent or emergent behavioral health needs, including:

• Suicidal ideation
• Homicidal ideation
• Acute psychosis
• Severe mood disorders
• Substance-induced psychiatric conditions
• Behavioral health emergencies requiring stabilization and evaluation

Responsibilities may include:

• Comprehensive psychiatric and medical assessments
• Crisis intervention
• Behavioral de-escalation
• Medication administration
• Continuous patient safety monitoring
• Coordination of psychiatric evaluations and treatment planning
• Coordination of inpatient psychiatric placement
• Providing care within California state-mandated patient care guidelines

Requirements

• Active California RN License
• 2+ years of recent Behavioral Health ER nursing experience
• Experience in a Level 1 Trauma institution required
• Experience in a metropolitan, diverse patient population required
• Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• NIHSS
• MAB or CPI
• LA City Fire & Life Safety Card
• COVID vaccination + booster if eligible

• 36 hours/week
• No on-call requirement

Pay Package

Travel:
💰 $2,400/week gross estimated

• $25.00/hr taxable
• $37.50/hr overtime
• $1,350/week estimated lodging stipend
• 36 hours/week
