  • Weekends and Holidays required
• Patient ratios (if known): Within Guidelines of CA State Law
  • Yes - may be asked to float throughout the facility or be asked to float from one facility to another as needed

• Holiday Requirements/Specifics? yes must work holidays
• Certs:  AHA BLS, MAB or CPI, LA City Fire and Life Safety card (must be LA City)
• Must complete the LA County Employee Health Clearance before assignment start date.
• License: Active CA RN License
  • If CA License has expired, it will need to be renewed
  • If applying for CA License, please call the Senators office to expediate the application

Experience:

• Minimum of one (1) year of recent inpatient Behavioral Health and Medical/Surgical nursing experience in a Level 1 Trauma Institution in a metropolitan city with a diverse population
• Experience providing comprehensive care to patients with mood, anxiety, and other behavioral conditions in a variety of settings such as med/surg units 

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive care to patients with acute psychiatric disorders, including mood disorders, psychosis, and substance use disorders in a locked behavioral health unit.
• Deliver direct patient care, including monitoring mental and physical status, provide suicide prevention, elopement precautions, administering medications, supporting therapeutic interventions, and maintaining patient and unit safety through continuous observation and adherence to security protocols.
