Requirements

• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• License: Required
• Experience/Skills: ICU experience with titratable drips required; RNs titrate cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation.
• Monitoring: RNs must read, interpret, and document telemetry strips.
• Vent/Respiratory: RNs handle respiratory equipment from nasal cannula through ventilator and troubleshoot as needed.

Job Description / Duties / Responsibilities

• Provide ICU nursing care for adult patients with trauma, cardiac conditions, overdose/substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent/pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress.
• Manage and titrate cardiac, insulin, and sedation drips.
• Monitor and document telemetry.
• Provide care involving vents, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen.
• Float to PCU or Med Surg as required, generally maintaining the unit's applicable patient ratio.
• Respond to call-back situations within 30 minutes when placed on call.

Scheduling & Submission Requirements

• Radius: 50 miles. Candidate must not be full-time, part-time, or PRN with any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility, including CHI/Dignity.
• Driver's license required at submission and used to verify the 50-mile radius.
• Blocked Scheduling: Not guaranteed; may be considered for weekends only.
• Duos requesting the same schedule or sharing a car are not accepted.
• RTO must be submitted upfront; 7 days or fewer per 13-week contract. Additional RTO will not be approved.
• Minimum 2 holidays that fall within the contract must be worked.
• Artificial nails are prohibited in patient-care departments.
• RN orientation exam is pass/fail and requires 90%; exam is open-book and covers skills learned during orientation.
• Weekend definition: Saturday and Sunday.
• Self-scheduling is available to core staff; travelers are added into the schedule. Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed.
• Healthcare Support Tech available 3 days/week based on volume; nurse aides may assist or sit 1:1 patients.
