Travel Physical Therapist (PT) – Outpatient Rehab

We are seeking a Travel Physical Therapist for a 13-week outpatient-focused contract in Haines, Alaska. This opportunity is ideal for a PT who is comfortable working independently in a rural setting and treating a broad range of orthopedic, neurological, and general rehabilitation needs.

This role is primarily outpatient, with some acute care and inpatient responsibilities as needed. The therapist will work closely with the interdisciplinary team and help support patients across multiple care settings.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical therapy evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Provide outpatient treatment for orthopedic, neurological, post-surgical, and general rehab diagnoses.
• Assist with acute care and inpatient mobility needs as required.
• Provide therapeutic exercise, gait training, balance training, transfer training, and functional mobility interventions.
• Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and safety strategies.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and other rehabilitation professionals.
• Complete timely documentation and maintain continuity of care across settings.

Requirements

• Active Alaska PT license required at time of submission.
• BLS required.
• Outpatient experience preferred.
• Acute care or inpatient experience preferred.
• Must be comfortable working independently in a rural healthcare environment.
• Start date will be no less than 5 weeks after fingerprint cards are received for processing.
• Traveler is responsible for securing housing and transportation.
