Position Overview

The Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive ambulatory nursing care to adult and pediatric patients. The RN will assess patients, provide treatments and procedures, coordinate care, and accurately document patient information while working closely with physicians and the multidisciplinary care team.

This position supports the Head & Neck team, caring for a complex patient population. The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) will be aligned with a provider while collaborating with a team of nurses to provide cross-coverage and coordinate patient care within the assigned disease site.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients based on medical needs.
• Provide direct patient care under physician direction.
• Perform IV placement and access implanted ports.
• Provide skin and wound care.
• Perform tracheostomy and PEG tube care.
• Coordinate patient care with medical oncology and surgical oncology teams.
• Assist with obtaining medical records and coordinating diagnostic testing.
• Schedule scans and other patient appointments as needed.
• Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Provide care to both adult and pediatric patients.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent clinic RN experience
• Experience caring for both adult and pediatric patients
• Recent experience in a patient-facing clinical role
• Experience with:
  • IV placement
  • Port access
  • Skin/wound care
  • Trach care
  • PEG tube care
• Active Kansas RN license
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Strong organizational, communication, and attention-to-detail skills

Preferred Experience

• Radiation Oncology
• Medical Oncology
• Emergency Department (ED)
• Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
• Oncology experience is preferred but not required

New Graduates: Not accepted

Orientation & Training

• Monday & Tuesday: KU NEO orientation
• Wednesday & Thursday: KU DON training
• Friday: Virtual EPIC training
• Orientation includes 8 non-billable hours

Additional Information

• Nicotine-free facility
• Client may cancel up to 2 shifts per month at no cost to the client and without employee pay, with a minimum of 2 hours' notice.
• Credentials Due: Monday, one week prior to start
• Payroll: Biweekly
• Guaranteed Hours: Per contract
