RN – CVICU | Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced CVICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join a busy, fast-paced cardiovascular service line managing some of the highest-acuity cardiac patients in the area.
The ideal candidate should have strong cardiovascular critical care experience and demonstrated competency with advanced cardiac support technologies, including ECMO, Impella, intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP), and VADs.
Unit & Clinical Environment
- Department: CVICU
- Service Line: Cardiovascular
- High-acuity, fast-paced clinical environment
- Highest-acuity cardiovascular service in the area
- Caring for complex cardiac and cardiovascular surgical patients
- Transplant experience is not required, as the service manages cardiovascular cases other than transplant patients
Required Clinical Experience
Candidates must have strong hands-on experience with advanced cardiovascular critical care, including:
- ECMO
- Impella
- Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP)
- VAD (Ventricular Assist Device)
Experience with multiple forms of advanced mechanical circulatory support is essential for success in this role.
Patient Population & Clinical Focus
The CVICU manages highly complex cardiovascular patients requiring intensive monitoring and advanced life-support interventions. Nurses should be comfortable caring for critically ill cardiac patients and managing sophisticated cardiovascular support devices.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a highly experienced CVICU RN who is confident managing high-acuity cardiovascular patients and has recent hands-on experience with ECMO, Impella, IABP, and VADs.
