Job Details

• Contract: 12 weeks

• Float: May be required to Endo if needed

Requirements

• License: California RN license
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS
• Experience: At least 2 years unless otherwise stated
• Charting: Epic preferred
• Travel Experience: Not required
• Local Rule: Locals accepted at local rate; 50-mile radius rule
• References: 2 references obtained within the last year
• Certifications: AHA or ARC; valid expiration dates
• Nursys: Uploaded within the last 2 weeks with valid CA RN license

Job Description / Duties / Responsibilities

• Provides direct and indirect patient care using comprehensive assessment, nursing care plans, patient education, and ongoing evaluation.
• Performs pre-op assessments and education.
• Reviews history and physicals.
• Administers pre-op medications and other ordered medications/therapeutic agents.
• Starts and maintains IVs.
• Performs medication reconciliation and obtains operative/procedural consent.
• Conducts airway assessment, EKG/ECG, phlebotomy, and dysrhythmia recognition/management.
• Provides patient and family education using teach-back.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and protects PHI.
• Collaborates with physicians, providers, patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Provides clinic support, staff orientation/training, supply ordering/stocking, and assistance with patient care.
• Participates in quality improvement activities.
• May support Ambulatory/Outpatient Surgery and Endoscopy.

Facility & Patient Care

• Patient Population: Adolescents, Adults, Pediatrics, Geriatrics
• Orientation: 8 hours
• Interdisciplinary Support: Interpretation Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Unit Secretary
• Patient Diagnoses: Ambulatory/Outpatient Surgery

Submission / Compliance Requirements

• Max RTO: 7 days per contract
• Holiday RTO: Only 1 holiday per contract; holidays include New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
• Work History: 7-year work history verification required.
• Compliance Documents: Due 10 days prior to start.
• Onboarding: Labs must be completed within 3–5 days of contract signing.
• Background/Licensure Hits: Supporting documentation required for facility HR approval.

• Return Staff/Travelers: No separation time required; former manager name required on application.
