L&D / LDRP Travel RN – Breakdown

Position: Labor & Delivery RN / LDRP RN
Department: Alternative Birthing Center – LDRP
Setting: Acute care, Trauma Level II
Contract: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-hour days
Shift Time: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week

Unit Details

• 12 LDRP rooms
• 2 triage rooms
• Approximately 700 deliveries/year
• Level II nursery
• EPIC charting
• AWHONN ratios:
  • 1:1 during labor
  • 1:3 couplet care

Patient Population

• Labor patients
• Vaginal deliveries
• C-sections
• Postpartum patients
• Newborns in Level II nursery

Required Certifications

• BLS
• ACLS
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

License: Active Illinois RN license required, or candidate must confirm that the IL license application has been started.

Required Experience

Candidate must be skilled in Labor & Delivery.

Preferred:

• LDRP experience
• Nursery experience
• Ability to care for both mother and newborn

Schedule

• 12-hour day shifts
• 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend
• No call/standby requirement
• Travelers must work every other holiday

Floating

• Hospital-wide floating as needed
• May be for tasking/team nursing model

Unit Support

• Charge RN every shift with no patient assignment
• OB techs
• Unit secretary
• Neonatology provider in-house 24/7
• RT available for nursery respiratory support
• Hospital-provided scrubs

Orientation

• 2–3 shifts depending on traveler
• 12 hours of orientation are non-billable
• Guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation

OSF Submission Requirements

Before submission, confirm:

• Last 4 digits of SSN
• Middle initial
• Requested time off
• Active IL RN license or proof application has started
• Candidate understands this is a drug-free campus
• Candidate must pass a negative drug screen

Cancellation

• Facility can cancel up to 12 hours per 13-week contract without penalty/pay requirement.
