First Connect Health has an immediate 13-week travel contract opening for an experienced Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) in Chandler, Arizona (Greater Phoenix / East Valley metro). Operating across the comprehensive critical care service line (Trauma-Neuro Surgical ICU, Medical-Cardiac ICU, and Overflow ICU) at Chandler Regional Medical Center—a designated Level I Trauma Center—this position features a 3x12 schedule with both Day and Night shifts available. 💰 PRE-CALCULATED PAY PACKAGE

• Weekly Gross: $2,195.00
• Weekly Tax-Free Stipend: $1,475.00
• Hourly W2 Rate: $20.00/hr (36 regular hours)
• Overtime Rate: $30.00/hr

📅 SHIFT & POSITION DETAILS

• Schedule: 3x12-Hour shifts (36 hours guaranteed weekly). Both straight Days and straight Nights available! Self-scheduling available (balanced by unit leadership).
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 regular hours guaranteed weekly.
• On-Call Requirements: NO MANDATORY ON-CALL REQUIRED! (Voluntary on-call available per departmental needs at $7.00/hr).
• Weekend & Holiday Coverage: 3 weekend shifts per 4-week scheduling period (Days: Sat/Sun; Nights: Fri/Sat); up to 1 holiday off during assignment.
• Facility & Setting: Chandler Regional Medical Center / Level I Trauma Center (32-bed Trauma Neuro SICU, 36-bed Medical Cardiac ICU, 12-bed Overflow ICU).
• Ratios & Staffing Support: 1:2 or 1:1 depending on acuity. Free-floating Charge Nurse (no patient assignment), 24/7 in-house Intensivists/Hospitalists, and 24/7 dedicated ICU Respiratory Therapists. (No unit CNAs/Aides; total care environment).
• Clinical Scope & Patient Population:
  • Surgical/Trauma/Neuro ICU: Level 1 trauma resuscitations, MVAs, GSWs, blunt trauma, craniotomies, ex-laps, specialty neurosurgery, CVA/post-tPA, sepsis, ARDS.
  • Medical/Cardiac ICU: Acute STEMI/NSTEMI, post-PCI, on/off pump CABG recovery, valve replacements, TAVR, IABP, Impella, ECMO, ARDS, DKA, and complex vascular surgeries.
• Drip Titration & Rhythm Interpretation: Active titration of critical drips (Propofol, Fentanyl, Precedex, Versed, Ketamine, Levophed, Vasopressin, Cardene, Labetalol, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Heparin, Insulin). No monitor techs—nurses independently read and interpret their own telemetry strips (GE monitors).
• Floating Scope: Floats between all 3 sister ICUs as needed; first to float to Telemetry floors (at 1:3 to 1:4 ratios) if unit census requires.
• EMR System & Uniform: Cerner; Scrub color is Navy Blue.

🚨 REQUISITE QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUBMISSION

• Experience: Minimum 3 full years of recent clinical RN experience with at least 2 full years in an acute adult ICU setting. Must include recent dedicated experience in EITHER Neuro ICU or Cardiac/CV ICU. (First-time travelers accepted with required background).
• Licensure: Active Arizona RN License or Compact/NLC Multistate License strictly in hand at submittal.
• Certifications Required at Submittal:
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification.
• Mandatory Testing & Orientation Gateways:
  • Must take and pass an online UNA Dysrhythmia Exam 24–48 hours prior to offer acceptance (maximum 2 attempts permitted).
  • Mandatory Day 1 Simulation Lab Assessment (Pass/Fail) at hospital orientation.
