Job Description – Psych RN

Position: Psych RN – Gero-Psych
Location: Akron, OH – Summa Health, Akron Campus
Assignment: 10/18/2026 – 12/26/2026 | 10 weeks
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Openings: 1
Experience: 2+ years
Interview: Required

Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced Gero-Psych RN to provide care to primarily older adult patients with dementia, depression, suicidal ideation, and other behavioral health needs.

Requirements:

2+ years of RN experience, preferably Gero-Psych/Behavioral Health.
BLS and CPI Blue Card required.
Must be proficient in drawing blood and managing IVs.
Recent Epic experience within the last 1 year; include Epic experience and most recent facility on resume.
Must be willing to float within scope, including Med/Surg as a helping hand.
Accredited nursing degree through ACEN or CCNE required.
Active RN license.
Strong behavioral health and patient-safety skills.
Interview required; candidate must provide available interview dates/times.
RTO required at submission; maximum 7 days. No block scheduling.
No RTO during the first 2 weeks of the assignment.

Unit Details:

Gero-Psych, BHP 4th Floor.
16 private rooms.
Typical ratio: 1:6/7.
Patient population primarily age 60+.
Safety support includes Centrak badges and Protective Services.
