Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery

Schedule & Contract

• Shift: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM or 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Weekend: Every other weekend
• On-Call: None
• Holiday: Must be available to work every other holiday, if needed
• First-Time Travelers: Accepted
• Local Candidates: RNs within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted. Locals are accepted for LPN positions.
• RTO/Block/Special Scheduling Requests: Must be submitted at the time of submission
• Call-Off Policy: The facility may cancel up to 3 shifts during the 13-week contract without incurring charges for those canceled hours.

License & Certifications

• Active New York RN or LPN license required
• Pending licenses are not accepted
• New York is not a Compact state
• OB-ACLS or ACLS
• BLS
• EFM certification
• NRP

Required Clinical Skills

• Assist with vaginal deliveries
• Circulate for C-sections
• Recover C-section patients
• Magnesium Sulfate therapy
• Pitocin/Oxytocin and Terbutaline
• APGAR scoring
• Baby Nurse / Baby Catcher
• ID and security banding
• Radiant warmers and thermoregulation
• Foley catheter insertion and management
• Fundus, lochia, and perineal care
• Postpartum hemorrhage management
• Pregnancy-induced hypertension
• NST (Non-Stress Tests)
• EFM (External Fetal Monitoring)
• IUPC placement and calibration

Unit Details

• All pregnant patients at any gestational age accepted by the provider team
• Triage evaluates pregnant patients at any gestational age and postpartum patients up to 6 weeks after delivery
• GE fetal and telemetry monitors
• Monica wireless fetal monitoring
• Neopuff
• Draeger newborn warmers
• Floating: Required within the nurse's skill set
• Scrubs: Hospital provided
