TRAVEL CERTIFIED SURGICAL Technologist

Contract: 13 Weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours/Week
Shift: 12-Hour Days
Schedule: Friday/Saturday/Sunday, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM
 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 1 year of experience in the specialty
• 2–3 previous travel assignments required
• Current CST certification through NBSTSA, NCCT, or AAHA
• Current CSFA certification through NBSTSA, or accepted equivalent:

• CSA through NCCSA
• SA-C through ABSAC
  • Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited Surgical Assistant program
  • Current BLS certification through AHA
  • Must have strong and proficient orthopedic first-assist experience
  • Must be willing to work as a CST when needed
  • Must be willing to float to outpatient surgery as needed

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• Orthopedic surgical experience
• Neuro/spine experience
• Scrubbing experience

OPERATING ROOM

• Main OR has 14 suites
• Approximately 28 cases per day with approximately 5 add-on cases
• Typically operates 7–8 ORs
• Approximately 2 Techs to 1 RN
• OR ratio: 1:1
• Techs are responsible for room turnover
• No OR aides or dedicated housekeeping staff
• Scrubbing is a plus for RNs but not required

CALL REQUIREMENTS

• Weeknight and weekend call rotation
• Approximately one 12-hour weekday call shift per week, with additional call as needed
• Approximately one 24-hour weekend call shift per month, which may be split into two 12-hour shifts
• Holiday call rotation as needed
• Weeknight call may be 7:00 PM–11:00 PM, 11:00 PM–7:00 AM, or 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
• Weekend call may be 7:00 AM–7:00 PM, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM, 7:00 PM–11:00 PM, or 7:00 AM–7:00 AM
• 20-minute call response time
• Travelers more than 20 minutes away while on call may be required to remain onsite
