Description
CT Tech
Experience: 2 years minimum, 3 years preferred
Trauma: Level I or Level II trauma experience required
First-time travelers: Accepted
Certifications: BLS, ARRT (CT)
License: KBMIRT
- Required skills:
- IV starts
- Port access
- Stroke CT
- Trauma CT
- Coronary CTA preferred
Department
- CT scanners: 4 total
- 2 ER CT
- 2 general CT
- Traveler will generally work in general CT, but may have ER assignments.
- Patient population includes:
- Inpatients
- Outpatients
- ER patients
- Trauma
- Drains/biopsies and other procedures
- Approximately 30 patients/day, depending on assignment.
- Floating is only between general CT and ER CT at University.
Required Technology

- Cerner EMR
- McKesson PACS
- Siemens CT equipment
- Somatom Sensation 64-slice
- Siemens Edge
- Siemens Force
- Siemens Flash
Staffing & Support
- Other CT technologists available
- Lead Tech during the day
- No Lead Tech on night shift
- Radiologist: 24/7
- Hospitalist: 24/7
- Respiratory Therapy: 24/7
- ED/RRT team available
- Transporter shortage means the CT Tech may need to transport ER patients
Schedule
- Weekend rotation: Every other weekend
- Call: None
- Holiday: 1 major + 1 minor holiday
- Schedule cycle: 8 weeks
- Potentially open to block scheduling or every-weekend scheduling
- Shift patterns mentioned:
- 7:00 AM–7:30 PM, 3 days/week
- 11:00 AM–7:30 PM, 4 days/week with variable starts
- Exact schedule follows the posted job requisition
- RTO: Manager approval required
